For the episodes relating to Romania, I took advantage of Halloween to start making the first shots. An undoubtedly very colorful festival but which, at Dracula’s castle, certainly presents an even greater attraction. Bran Castle is wonderful, excellently preserved and decorated, despite not being the original castle of the popular Count. In fact, it rose to fame only after the famous story and the subsequent film masterpiece “Bram Stoker Dracula”, given that the famous writer, despite never having seen it live, set it right in Bran Castle. One of the historical managers of the castle told me this and more in an interesting interview, for a truly interesting episode!
A curiosity about the filming: in order not to disturb the guests of the party (thousands of people), the entire crew had to disguise themselves, filming in this colorful way. When making documentaries it is always important to have the least impact on the people filmed, to maintain authenticity and spontaneity. Often the choice of set up in this case is also very important. A camera equipped for a film set is much more intimidating than a small camera. In this case we opted for an FX3 accompanied by its little sister FX30, part of the Sony cinema range but concealable without attracting too much attention. A choice that turned out to be a winning one given the spontaneity of the people filmed!
